Bio:

I was born and grew up in Carlisle. I went to Deaf school in Boston Spa from the age of 3½ until 18. I went on to college/polytechnic for Electronic Engineering qualifications but had a change of direction at age of 23 when I met BDA staff and decided to become a youth and community worker. After professional training for youth and community worker in 1987-89, I went on to manage youth services in BDA and from 1995 worked in Cumbria Deaf Association as Manager of Community Services until the present time.
